Annual General Meeting:

The date and time for the 2024 AGM has been set:  

Monday, 9 December 2024 at 8.00pm (Australian Eastern Summer Time)

The venue?  Wherever you wish, as it will be conducted by a WEBEX online meeting.  

Current members will be emailed the meeting invitation. 

NOMINATIONS for committee positions are now open.  

GO TO THE "NOMINATIONS" tab to access and submit the form.

Nominations will close on  Sunday, 24 November 2024 at 5pm.  

You may self-nominate or may be nominated by another.

You must be a current financial member to nominate/be nominated for committee. If you have not joined or renewed your membership, please do so on the Membership tab of this website.

The positions are:  

1. President/Chairperson

2. Vice President/Vice Chair

3. Secretary

4. Treasurer

5. General committee member

6. General committee member

Your nominee for President, VicePresident, Secretary and Treasurer need to be Breeder Members.  

Your nominee/s for general committee may be Breeder Members or Owner-Rider Members.

You may nominate for more than one position, but no-one can be elected to more than one position. If you nominate for more than one position, the position for which you receive the highest number of votes will be the one you hold, and your votes for other positions will be disregarded.

Please consider whether you can devote meeting time and some other time to assisting the breed in these positions.   

  • President:  Leader of the association and carries a tie-breaker vote in the event of a drawn committee vote.  The person in this role is effectively the most public face of the association. 

  • Vice President:  Deputy to the president and chairs meetings in absence of the president. 

  • Secretary: Responsible for the association administration, including meetings and all required reporting in relation to the incorporated association, membership records, correspondence. 

  • Treasurer:  You do not have to be an accountant or bookkeeper to fill the treasurer role, just able to understand and report on incoming and outgoing funds and be one the two required authorisers of payments on the TA Inc accounts.  As we are a small organisation, there are not many transactions monthly, transactions mostly occur between September and January for registrations and grading tour entries, and also around June-July for membership renewals.  

  • General committee:  These are roles where you as either a breeder or owner-rider contribute to the running of the association, participating in meetings (around monthly) by webex, and taking on particular promotion or other tasks as agreed in meetings.  We encourage owner riders to participate, as we really do want your input around how to best promote the breed to competition riders.

VOTING for any positions that have more than one nominee will commence on Monday, 25 November 2024 

Voting will be open until 12 noon on Sunday, 8 December 2024.  

The votes will then be collated and outcomes announced during the AGM.

If there is only one nominee for a position, they will be declared elected unopposed, and voting will not be necessary. 

Voting will be by a form that will be emailed to all current voting-eligible members.
